OverviewAssists varied levels of technicians with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of Baggage Handling Systems and/or Passenger Boarding Bridges.
Responsibilities- Assist with preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance, including clearing system jams, shift inspections, cleaning, and electrical/mechanical adjustments.
- Diagnose equipment failures under the guidance of senior personnel and ensure equipment is running safely.
- Take direction, seek guidance from senior level personnel, and accept training and mentoring.
- Read and interpret repair manuals, basic schematics, and supervisor/manager instructions.
- Work in tight or high spaces using appropriate PPE and fall protection.
- Follow and comply with all company and federally established policies and procedures; complete all assigned training courses.
- Complete forms associated with work assignments according to established procedures.
- Perform additional duties/assignments as required by management, such as sweeping, cleaning and greasing.
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Minimum 1 year mechanical experience, 1 year BHS or PBB experience, or ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test.
- Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Previous work experience in an airport environment.
- Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges.

Basic computer knowledge: log on, retrieve and respond to emails, and complete training.
Other Requirements- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must obtain and maintain an airport security badge.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under the company's insurance policy.
- Must comply with the ELS drug and alcohol policy.
- Must commit to working safely while accomplishing all tasks and promoting a safe work environment at all times.
- Stand, walk, sit, handle/fingering, reach outward, reach above shoulder, climb/balance, crawl, squat or stoop – frequently.
- Bend or kneel – frequently or occasionally.
- Move or lift weights up to 10 lbs – frequently; 11‑20 lbs – frequently; 21‑50 lbs – occasionally; 51+ lbs – occasionally.
- Push/Pull 10 lbs or less – frequently; 11‑20 lbs – frequently; 21‑50 lbs – occasionally; 51+ lbs – infrequently.
Physical Requirements
Vision (near, distance), hearing.
Work EnvironmentWorks at the airport terminal under conditions that may contain dust, dirt, and continual noise below OSHA's action level.
