Aviation Mechanic (A&P Mechanic I & III)

This role supports the repair, replacement, and maintenance of key aircraft components, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation of complex aircraft systems. You will work on airframes, powerplants, and A&P components, using a wide range of tools and diagnostic equipment to perform inspections, troubleshoot issues, and complete structural and mechanical repairs in accordance with national and international aviation standards. The position follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and plays a critical part in large-scale modification and mission integration work on advanced widebody aircraft for a high-visibility national defense program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the repair, replacement, and maintenance of key aircraft components, including airframe and powerplant systems.
• Support detailed checks of mechanical and functional components of aircraft, including testing and replacement of defective or faulty parts.
• Use a variety of tools and equipment to diagnose component issues and determine appropriate repairs or replacements.
• Perform aircraft maintenance and repairs in compliance with national and international aviation standards, internal procedures, and safety regulations.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized hangar or workshop environment while performing maintenance and modification tasks.
• Demonstrate and apply knowledge in one or more major areas of aviation maintenance, including airframe maintenance, power plant mechanics, or combined A&P components.
• Conduct inspections and heavy maintenance on aircraft, including structural and sheet metal work such as riveting and corrosion repair.
• Support aircraft modification projects, including installation, adjustment, and repair of components on large commercial and military aircraft platforms.
• Assist with component repair and overhaul activities, ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and documentation requirements.
• Work effectively within a maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) environment, coordinating with other mechanics, technicians, and engineers.
• Follow safety-sensitive protocols when handling or working near hazardous materials, explosives, or dangerous equipment.
• Operate or assist in operating vehicles, heavy or dangerous equipment, or machinery as required for aircraft maintenance and modification tasks.
• Perform aviation-related duties that may include inspection of structures, equipment, or vehicles to ensure airworthiness and regulatory compliance.
• Support mission integration and modification activities on widebody aircraft, including structural modifications and preparation for installation of advanced systems.
• Adhere to all security, quality, and safety procedures, including those related to working on sensitive national defense programs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $40.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
