Operations Supervisor

Central Transport is a leading Less‑Than‑Truckload (LTL) carrier with an expanding network of terminals nationwide.

Location & Shift

11040 N Dixie Dr, Vandalia, OH 45377

Shift: Monday‑Friday, 2:00pm‑12:00am. Available to work up to 50 hours per week, including nights, weekends and all weather conditions.

Ideal Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in managing a team, preferably in transportation operations.
  • Thorough understanding of the LTL trucking industry.
  • Prior management, dispatch and dock experience, preferably in LTL trucking.
  • Strong leadership skills: hiring, coaching, counseling, training, mentoring.
  • Desire to deliver excellent customer service.
  • High aptitude for technology.
  • Ability to multi‑task while being detail‑oriented.
  • Excellent written, listening and verbal communication skills.
  • Willing to work an average of 50 hours per week.
  • Able to work any shift, including nights, weekends and in any weather condition.
  • Capable of working under tight time constraints in a high‑pressure environment with multiple priorities.
  • An Associate or Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
Duties
  • Oversee outbound operations for designated section of the terminal dock, including unloading, managing forklift traffic, and overseeing proper picking/sortation of palletized freight.
  • Manage up to 30 local LTL drivers and dock personnel to achieve a designated production schedule.
  • Build loads based on available labor and freight levels using independent judgment.
  • Ensure proper load of carriers by monitoring cube and weight of trailers.
  • Provide leadership and accountability to drivers, dock workers and dock hand.
  • Monitor dock production, ensuring facility Key Performance Indicator goals are met or exceeded.
  • Monitor hours and overtime.
  • Maintain a safe work environment compliant with state and federal DOT/OSHA standards.
  • Ensure company operational model compliance.
  • Support a culture of excellence in quality of product to internal and external customers.
