Material Handler, Forklift Operator, Distribution/ General Warehouse
Position Summary
First Shift
Hours:
7:00 AM – 3:00 PM. The role will be responsible for supporting facility safety programs while performing duties related to unloading inbound receipts, stock put‑aways, loading, and supporting operations through material movements throughout the distribution operation.
- Must have stand‑up forklift experience in the past year.
- Complete all required safety and regulatory training as applicable.
- Ability to support front/back/pull to the lines.
- Ability to support secondary packaging/blending operations (training will be provided).
- Staging of finished goods for outbound shipment to DHL in the designated area.
- Unloading inbound shipments.
- Train on high‑reach forklift for put‑away of inbound materials.
- Ensure all required paperwork is complete and accurate.
- Maintain forklift and other lifting devices as required, including battery change/charging, water levels and charging areas, and related equipment.
- Interface with all levels of personnel in a positive, team‑building manner.
- Work from established procedures, verbal instructions, and radio communications.
- Maintain work areas in a neat and orderly condition in accordance with Visual Management and 5S standards.
- Follow all prescribed Health, Safety and Environmental laws, OSHA rules, and regulations.
- Escalate all issues affecting key metrics:
Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. - Collaborate with internal departments to address and resolve issues.
- Other duties as assigned due to business needs.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent education experience required.
- Self‑direction with an emphasis on quality and productivity.
- Possess decision‑making and problem‑solving skills with little to no direction.
- Strong communication, basic computer skills, and basic math skills.
- 2+ years of experience operating in a warehouse setting.
- 2+ years of experience on stand‑up counterbalance forklifts, including current experience within the last 12 calendar months.
- Skilled in SAP/WMS and functionality of Windows Tablet (e.g., material lookup).
- Weight:
Lifting up to 60 lbs., with the ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time. - Job requires analytical skills, self‑direction, problem‑solving, attention to detail, communication, and the ability to be self‑driven to continually learn.
- Physical capabilities: stretching, lifting, climbing, twisting, turning, standing, pulling, pushing, reaching, and bending.
The pay rate for this position is up to USD $21.50 per hour. Please note that the pay rate provided is a good faith estimate at the time of posting.
