Pay: $36.06 – $38.46 / hour ($75,000 – $80,000 / year base, pending increase)

Schedule: Full-Time (40 hrs/week) | Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts + On-Call responsibilities

About the Role

Operating under an Indigenous-centered model rooted in Traditional Indian Medicine and cultural values, the Residential Treatment Nurse serves as a primary point of care for residents ("Relatives"). Reporting directly to the Medical Director, this role oversees medical intakes, medication administration, laboratory compliance, and immediate emergency response within a culturally responsive, trauma-informed residential recovery facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct Patient Care: Perform medical intakes, patient health assessments, basic wound care, counseling, phlebotomy, and referrals for higher or specialized levels of care.
  • Medication & Laboratory Management: Oversee the medication observation program and manage the CLIA-waived laboratory to maintain regulatory compliance and proper staff training.
  • Emergency Response & Safety: Provide immediate response to medical/psychiatric emergencies using established protocols, train staff on safety procedures, and maintain nursing unit sanitation and inventory.
  • Logistics & Health

    Education:

    Manage medical supply inventories, deliver regular health education, and empower residents and their support networks.
  • Care Coordination: Act as the primary medical contact for residents; consult with internal and external providers; maintain ROI disclosures; and participate in organizational quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • Current CPR / BLS Certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in medication administration, psychiatric diagnoses, medical intakes, wound care, phlebotomy, and emergency response.
  • Ability to oversee medication observation programs and CLIA-waived lab standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, substance use treatment, or residential care settings.
  • Experience or strong interest in working with American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) populations and knowledge of health issues impacting Indigenous communities.
