A Junior Estimator / Contracts Administrator is a hybrid entry-level role to support both pre-construction and post-award activities.
What a Junior Estimator / Contracts Administrator Does:Assisting in preparing takeoffs (quantifying materials)
Helping gather supplier and subcontractor quotes
Organizing tender documents and bid submissions
Reviewing drawings and specs at a basic level
Supporting senior estimators with calculations and pricing
Goal: help produce accurate estimates and competitive bids.
Contracts Administration Responsibilities (Post-Award)Preparing and issuing purchase orders and subcontract agreements
Tracking change orders and RFIs
Assisting with progress claims and payment certificates
Maintaining project documentation and contract files
Supporting project managers with administrative tasks
Monitoring deadlines, insurance, WSIB, and compliance documents
Updating project schedules and cost-tracking spreadsheets
Goal: help keep the project organized, compliant, and on track.
