Role Overview

We are seeking a Buyer to join our Purchasing team. You will report to the Category Manager and the Purchasing Director and play a key role in managing product categories, building strong vendor relationships, and ensuring we have the right products, at the right price, at the right time. As we continue to grow, we are focused on strengthening our product assortment, supplier partnerships, and overall buying strategy to remain competitive in the market.

Your contribution will have an impact on Sales growth, margin improvement, and inventory optimization across the business.

Key Responsibilities Purchasing & Order Management
  • Process and place purchase orders for inventory replenishment from contracted vendors, ensuring accuracy and timely execution
  • Monitor open orders weekly to resolve outstanding items, backorders, pricing discrepancies, and shipping requirements
  • Review and process supplier claims, delivery discrepancies, supplier returns, and rejected or undeliverable materials
  • Coordinate revisions, cancellations, and extension requests with suppliers as needed
Inventory Planning & Analysis
  • Analyze historical and forecasted demand patterns to maintain optimal stock levels aligned with turnover goals
  • Monitor inventory health across warehouses, identifying aged or damaged stock and coordinating dispersal strategies
  • Prepare accurate inventory reports and recommend replenishment or corrective action based on business needs
  • Set up new products in the system and ensure the timely implementation of pricing updates
Cost & Logistics Optimization
  • Analyze freight rates and calculate the landed cost of goods
  • Identify cost-effective shipping routes and logistics solutions to improve supply chain efficiency
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance purchasing operations and reduce costs
Supplier Relationship Management
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships through regular communication
  • Collaborate with suppliers on product development, new listings, pricing changes, and promotional timelines
  • Negotiate and coordinate with vendors to ensure reliable product flow and consistent supplier return cadence
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Warehouse and Sales teams to coordinate the seamless flow of goods from the supplier to the sales floor
  • Support promotional planning by aligning inventory requirements with the promotional calendar
  • Support Customer Service and the industrial sales team on item setup, ETA, pricing, and availability requests
Skills and Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build productive supplier relationships
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to assess cost, quality, risk, and supply market conditions
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to respond to internal customer inquiries and clarify purchasing requirements
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Solid knowledge of advanced Excel, BI tools, and Netsuite
