We are seeking a motivated Business Development Representative to drive growth through tactical execution of our business strategy, focusing on cultivating strategic partnerships, positioning our technologies within procurement frameworks, and securing high‑value opportunities in the defense and government sectors.
This role is not just about managing tenders—it’s about recognizing opportunities early, connecting with the right stakeholders, and ensuring GSCI is positioned to deliver maximum operational value at the right time.
Key Responsibilities- Drive business development initiatives that expand GSCI’s presence in government, defense, and law enforcement procurement globally, adapting company objectives to uncover and develop high‑value opportunities.
- Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships that strengthen GSCI’s competitive position and open access to new procurement opportunities.
- Engage proactively throughout the procurement process to align GSCI solutions with end‑user requirements and ensure our technologies are positioned for relevance in upcoming projects.
- Monitor defense and security tender landscapes to anticipate opportunities and determine the optimal timing and approach for engagement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, procurement officers, agents, and key industry partners to enhance GSCI’s credibility and visibility.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with technical, production, and proposal teams to develop tailored, compliant, and competitive solutions.
- Represent GSCI at key industry events, exhibitions, and stakeholder meetings, including product demonstrations and acting as a product expert to convey technical benefits effectively.
- Support negotiation and closing of contracts, ensuring alignment with company policies and commercial objectives.
- Take responsibility for proposal development—preparing compliant submissions that clearly reflect GSCI’s strengths, advantages, and commitment to quality.
- Track tender outcomes and partnership performance to refine outreach strategies and measure impact.
- Manage pipeline and opportunities in Zoho CRM and Epicor with accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare quotations, monitor tender platforms, and update opportunity trackers.
- Proactively evaluate clients and opportunities — assessing potential value versus time investment — and develop tailored strategic approaches throughout the lead acquisition process.
- Conduct market and competitor research; stay informed on global defense developments and regional procurement trends.
- Participate in internal coordination meetings, providing market feedback and creative input.
- Contribute ideas to marketing initiatives and support content planning from a business development perspective.
- Strategic thinker and adaptive problem solver:
Able to see beyond the tender process to identify opportunities and align proposals with broader requirements. Comfortable navigating complex environments and adjusting strategy as needed. - Proactive and decisive:
Knows when to act, when to engage, and how to deliver maximum value at the right moment. - Strong relationship builder:
Excels at developing trust with senior stakeholders across government and industry. - Results‑driven:
Focuses on outcomes and measurable impact, with a “go-getter” attitude — opportunities exist but must be actively nurtured and monitored to succeed. - Thick skin:
Ability to handle challenges and persist in pursuit of strategic goals. - Commercially savvy:
Understands how partnerships, negotiations, and timing impact competitive advantage.
- Proven track record in business development, tender management, or government sales within defense, security, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of government procurement and tender processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Experience building strategic partnerships and influencing procurement requirements.
- Regional expertise or language skills are advantageous but not essential.
- A strategic role with direct influence on GSCI’s growth and positioning in the defense sector.
- Opportunity to work with cutting‑edge defense optics technology.
- Collaborative culture with strong focus on innovation and excellence.
- Competitive salary and uncapped commission.
