Job Summary

The Director of Sales provides strategic and operational leadership for the sales organization and works in close partnership with marketing to drive revenue growth, market expansion, and customer retention. This role is responsible for setting and executing sales strategy, leading geographically dispersed sales team, and achieving company revenue objectives through effective planning, forecasting, talent development and customer engagement.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develops and executes strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets, expand market share, and grow the customer base across new established territories.
  • Partners with senior leadership to establish sales goals, budgets, forecasts, and growth initiatives, including new product introductions and promotional strategies.
  • Provides leadership oversight to Sales and Marketing teams, ensuring alignment with company objectives and go‑to‑market strategies.
  • Builds and maintains strong, long‑term customer and dealer relationships by understanding business needs and delivering value‑driven solutions.
  • Sets, monitors and evaluates sales performance by territory, product, and region; provides coaching and corrective action as needed.
  • Identifies new market opportunities, competitive threats, and growth strategies to support long term business objectives.
  • Reviews and approves dealer applications, account assignments, and Territory Manager sales goals.
  • Leads key customer engagements, supports complex negotiations, and coaches sales leaders on relationship management and dealer execution.
  • Plans and facilitates monthly sales meetings and develops an annual sales calendar to coordinate strategic initiatives.
  • Recruits, trains, and develops sales leaders and staff, fostering a high‑performance accountability‑driven culture.
  • Conducts regular one‑on‑one meetings and performance evaluations; recognizes achievement and manages performance issues in partnership with HR.
  • Models company values and professional standards in all interactions and leader activities.
  • Travels with sales staff and calls on customers as needed (up to 40%).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in sales management and business‑related functions.
  • Experience in distribution and/or the appliance industry or a closely related sector.
  • Proven success managing, coaching, and developing remote and geographically dispersed sales teams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office and proficiency in CRM software.
  • Experience with sales forecasting, pipeline management, and KPI‑driven performance models.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems or B2B distribution environments.
