Job Description
Financial Analyst I performs a range of activities in the area of General Accounting. This role is responsible for typical accounting period closure activities, reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts, preparing for annual audits, investigation and analysis of specific accounting transactions. The Financial Analyst will be required to be flexible during peak periods to meet deadlines. This role will work closely with and support other members of the Finance team.
The Financial Analyst will prepare monthly journal entries and complete the month‑end process, as well as prepare monthly reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts, including but not limited to Bank, Prepaid expenses, Accounts payable, and Accrued Liabilities. They will also post daily, weekly, and monthly system interfaces from sub ledgers to the General Ledger, support the corporate credit card program, prepare working papers, and assist in the annual external audit.
They will work closely with external Accounts Payable service provider (MMC) on all aspects of Accounts Payable.
- Degree or diploma in Business Administration - Accounting.
- Certification in accounting (CPA) completed or close to completion.
- Experience in full‑cycle accounting essential with high attention to detail.
- Excellent computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Demonstrated experience in data collection, analysis and reporting.
- Demonstrated organizational, prioritization, and time management, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Ability to work with tight timelines and a fast‑paced environment requiring flexibility with respect to working hours.
- Superior judgment, critical thinking, problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven attendance record.
- Demonstrates understanding and compliance with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
