Reports to:

CEO/Principal

Blazesoft is a fast-growing, Great Place to Work-certified technology and entertainment company. We are seeking an experienced, analytical, and tech-savvy Associate, Investments to support the CEO/Principal's Investment Office across fund commitments, direct private investments, public markets, and real estate.

This is a principal-facing role for an investment professional who wants broader exposure than a traditional financial-services role, with meaningful involvement in diligence, portfolio monitoring, reporting, and investment decision support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct diligence on prospective fund commitments and direct private investments, including commercial, financial, operational, and structural analysis.
  • Prepare concise investment memos and recommendations for the CEO/Principal.
  • Monitor fund and direct-investment holdings, including capital calls, distributions, valuation updates, manager reporting, performance, and key portfolio developments.
  • Evaluate private investment opportunities by reviewing markets, financial models, cap tables, transaction terms, and exit potential.
  • Maintain a structured deal-flow and pipeline process; support relationships with fund managers, founders, co-investors, advisors, and intermediaries.
  • Prepare clear portfolio reporting across asset classes and geographies.
  • Review fund and transaction documentation, including LPAs, side letters, subscription agreements, and term sheets; flag legal, tax, compliance, and structural considerations in coordination with external advisors.
  • Use AI-enabled research, data extraction, workflow automation, and analytics tools to improve sourcing, diligence, reporting, and portfolio monitoring.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant investment experience; 7+ years is preferred for candidates expected to operate with greater autonomy.
  • Experience in private wealth, investment advisory, asset management, fund-of-funds or allocator investing, VC/PE, investment banking, family office investing, or another analytical investment role.
  • Demonstrated exposure to fund diligence, manager evaluation, fund documentation, private investment analysis, or portfolio monitoring.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, analytical, and diligence skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including investment memos, portfolio updates, and executive-level summaries.
  • Professional maturity, discretion, integrity, and sound judgment in a confidential principal-facing environment.
  • Strong fluency with AI-enabled research, data extraction, workflow automation, and productivity tools.
  • Able to work on-site in Concord, Ontario; eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Assets
  • CFA, CIM, CAIA, or another relevant investment designation is a strong asset.
  • Current or previous AAR/AR registration, or eligibility to become registered if required, is also a strong asset.
  • Experience evaluating technology-driven private-market opportunities across software, cybersecurity, defense and security technology, interactive entertainment, iGaming, and adjacent technology verticals.
  • Familiarity with institutional fund managers, venture-capital, and private-markets ecosystems in North America and other relevant markets.
Benefits
  • Direct exposure to the CEO/Principal and meaningful involvement in investment decision-making.
  • A broad principal-side mandate across funds, direct investments, public markets, and real estate.
  • Competitive compensation with performance-based upside.
  • Exposure to fund managers, founders, advisors, and investment partners.
  • An entrepreneurial, fast-moving, Great Place to Work-certified culture.
