SUMMARY
As a Maintenance Supervisor you will lead, organize and supervise maintenance team to ensure production goals are achieved and unplanned downtime is minimized, while maintaining the highest level of safety within the plant at all times. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our facility. Drive Continuous Improvement throughout the plant and manage sub-contractors and vendors as required.
Take a key leadership role in developing new ideas/methods to improve safety, quality and productivity throughout the plant. Your experience in plastic extruder machinery, robotic pick and place systems, PLCs, drives, AC and DC motors, electrical troubleshooting, etc. will be essential to our success.
Salary Range: $98,496 to $135,432 (inclusive of bonus opportunities)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Safety: Promote and enforce a culture of safety among the maintenance team, emphasizing the importance of safe work practices and adherence to Westlake Safety policy and protocols. Training maintenance department on key safety procedures/policies as necessaryElectrical System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on electrical systems, including plastic extruder machinery, robotic pick and place systems, and associated equipment.Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure the continuous operation of production processes.Supervision

Lead and supervise a team of electrical/mechanical tradesmen, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure that work is carried out safely and efficiently.Compliance: Ensure that all electrical work is following relevant codes, standards, and regulations, and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.Equipment Upgrades: Collaborate with the maintenance superintendent to plan and execute upgrades or modifications to electrical systems as necessary to improve performance or meet changing requirements.Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of electrical/mechanical maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and maintenance logsInventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of electrical components and spare parts, ensuring adequate stock for maintenance and repairContinuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains within the maintenance departmentEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Must hold a valid Ontario 442A and 309A / Electrical Trades LicenseValid Industrial Mechanic/Millwright License strongly preferredBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field preferredAdditional certifications in electrical systems and safetyProven experience in maintaining and troubleshooting electrical systems in an industrial setting, with expertise in plastic extruder machinery, robotic pick and place systems, PLCs, drives, AC and DC motorsProven experience in PLC, drive programming and can able to modify or write PLC ladder logic diagramsMinimum 5 years in a supervisory role, preferably in a manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulationsExcellent problem-solving and decision-making skillsEffective communication and leadership abilitiesSafety number # 1
