Sarasota National is a high-end private golf community with over 1,800 homes.
General Purpose:
Responsible for handling general accounting functions including Accounts Payable processes, member billing, assist with month-end reporting, member relations/accounts receivable functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing ability to present financial information in a clear and professional manner
- Monthly billing, member statements.
- Assist with monthly close activities, reviewing financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules prepared by the accounting team.
- Provide hands on review and quality control, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAP and Troon’s internal controls and standard operating procedures.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting issues and variances, escalating matters appropriately to the Club Controller when needed.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, including data preparation, review of assumptions, and variance analysis.
- Analyze financial performance, highlight significant variances, and provide clear, actionable insights into accounting management and operations.

- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a lead, supervisory, or senior accountant capacity.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing complex reconciliations, financial statements, and close deliverables prepared by others.
- Proven ability to manage workloads, deadlines, and quality across multiple departments with minimal oversight.
- Experience in multi entity accounting, shared services, or hospitality/golf industry environments.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft 365 suite.
- Knowledge of Jonas club software & Ottimate accounts payable processing
- Solid understanding of GAAP, transaction flow, and financial statement impacts.
- Ability to identify complex accounting issues, apply judgment, and recommend compliant solutions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non finance partners.
- Comfortable using reporting tools for review, analysis, and variance investigation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in a deadline driven, fast paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field required.
