The Central Maintenance Department within the Power Delivery Business Unit is seeking a Senior Arborist to join their team in Venice, FL.

Qualifications:

• Specialized Transmission Vegetation Management Certification (required) to support compliance with transmission line vegetation patrol standards.
• Strong geographical knowledge of the West Region for transmission systems and vegetation conditions.
• In-depth understanding of tree growth rates by species and their impact on required vegetation management clearances for transmission lines.
• Demonstrated experience managing contractor crews in a vegetation management or related environment.

Employees in this position oversee the implementation of business unit vegetation management. This position ensures compliance with all laws and regulations. Employees in this position develop action plans to improve inspection and work performance and quality. Employees in this role drive reliability improvements, increase customer experience and satisfaction and ensure work execution within established guidelines and budgets. Employees respond to elevated customer concerns and make decisions with impact to company brand.

Employees in this role respond to customer outages during regular weather and natural disasters.

• Audit inspections to ensure federal and state regulatory compliance and directly oversee line clearing activities for the regulated utility as well as NEER and NEET assets.
• Coordinate closely with Distribution Control Center (power systems operations) and electrical repair crews for safe and rapid grounding, line clearing and restoration efforts.
• Work with elected officials and government leadership to advocate for legislation and programs which enable customers to plant trees away from power lines.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations for a large workforce including budgetary approvals and process compliance activities.
• Resolve customer complaints and inquiries promptly and support legal requests.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure proper clearances and vegetation clearing techniques during pre‑construction activities for major work.
• Promote safety consciousness and adherence to OSHA and company safety requirements to achieve an injury‑free work environment and motivate and develop employees.
• Ensure the inspection of all work performed is in accordance with contract scope and specifications.
• Design, schedule, approve, and oversee work scope for all hardening, preventative maintenance, customer trim requests, and capital scope work.
• Support reactive work including regularly occurring outages, high impact outage events, major storm restoration and out of area travel.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

• High School Graduate / GED
• Bachelor’s or equivalent experience
• Experience:
