Role Description The Registered Dental Hygienist role at Heartland Dental in Venice, FL is a full-time, on-site position focused on delivering high-quality preventive and periodontal care to patients. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing dental prophylaxis, periodontal assessments, and non-surgical periodontal therapy, as well as taking and reviewing dental radiographs. The hygienist will provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, disease prevention, and treatment plans, working closely with dentists and other team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

Additional duties include maintaining accurate clinical records, adhering to infection control and safety protocols, and contributing to a positive, collaborative practice environment.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated clinical proficiency in Dentistry and Dental Care, including collaborating with dentists on diagnostic and treatment planning needs.
• Strong skills in Hygiene and Dental Prophylaxis, with the ability to perform thorough cleanings and preventive services for diverse patient populations.
• Experience assessing and treating Periodontal Disease, including performing periodontal charting and providing appropriate periodontal therapies.
• Active Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in the state of Florida and current CPR/BLS certification.
• Knowledge of infection control standards, OSHA regulations, and HIPAA compliance requirements.
• Effective communication and patient education skills, with a focus on creating a welcoming, inclusive, and trust-based environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based clinical setting and adapt to practice needs and schedules.
• Prior experience in a general dentistry practice and familiarity with dental practice management or charting software is preferred.
