Job Summary
An adjunct faculty member will be responsible for maintaining the highest academic standards in his/her particular discipline. The individual is expected to exercise professionalism in all activities related to the role of academician, including those concerned with the various duties assigned by the Department Chair, and any involvement with colleagues, peers, community and students. The position of an adjunct faculty member is temporary, and is contracted as needed.
Provides instruction in the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program, focusing on the specific skills of academic reading/vocabulary, academic writing/grammar, and academic and professional speaking/listening. Within this context, you will equip adult English Language Learners (ELL), with the language, critical thinking, cultural and college success skills necessary to successfully achieve their full academic and professional goals. The successful candidate must have prior experience teaching EAP or ESL to adults and the ability to be creative in the classroom.
Computer literacy is essential. Adjunct faculty are paid at a rate of $2000 per 3
ILH.

- Education/Experience:
- Master's Degree in TESOL or Master's Degree with 18 graduate credit hours in TESOL, TESL, or applied linguistics. Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in TESL or related Bachelor's Degree + TESL Certification of 120 hours from an accredited program may be considered.
- Computer Skills:
- Must demonstrate effective use of instructional technology and be familiar with current office hardware and software.
- Certificates and Licenses:
- Responsibility for Communication: Must be able to effectively communicate with students, staff and the public.
- Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment varies from very quiet to moderate as is typical of an office or classroom environment.
