Job Summary
Under the supervision of Manager, Preanalytical Laboratory Services and Phlebotomy Supervisors, performs all duties of Phlebotomist Tech II, including routine blood collection on all age groups to include neonates, infants and the elderly. In addition, demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to perform specimen processing and receiving in the Laboratory. Demonstrates competency in registration of patients and specimens. Assumes daily lead responsibilities.
Handles patient flow and instrumental in solving problems.

Required Qualifications- Require a minimum of two (2) years of phlebotomy experience with all age groups.
- Require Phlebotomy certification with a national agency recognized by AHCA; or must obtain within six (6) months of hire/transfer date. Must be kept current and active.
- Require the ability to follow written/verbal instructions.
- Prefer previous experience in patient registration.
- Prefer one (1) year experience with SMHCS in primary role.
- Prefer demonstrated positive customer service and good judgment when in contact with patients, the public, and other staff members.
- Prefer the ability to demonstrate an amiable personality and a willing and cooperative attitude.
- Prefer excellent communication skills and ability to use and understand vocabulary with some knowledge of medical terminology.

Valid Driver's License
