The Patient Care Technician performs tasks supportive to delivery of patient care in assigned departments under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

• Require one of the following:
  • Florida licensure as Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Paramedic, or a military Hospital Corpsman, Combat Medic Specialist, or Aerospace Medical Service Specialist; or National licensure as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT); which must be maintained active during employment;
  • Patient Care Technician (PCT) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Certification:
    Provide certification of successful completion of a Florida State Board approved program and successfully obtain a Florida CNA license within 120 days of graduation. For a full list of Florida State Board-approved programs, visit (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).-
• Students who are eligible for CNA exam are required to:
  • currently be enrolled in or a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (RN/LPN);
  • if enrolled, have completed the first semester of clinical for ASN/BSN degree or completion of first trimester for LPN;
  • cannot be currently licensed in the U.S. as a RN or LPN;
• Employees hired without the above licensure and/or by years of experience only prior to 11/11/19, are grandfathered in and will have the option of obtaining the stipulated licensure.

• Prefer working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

• HS EQ:
  High School Diploma, GED or Certificate

• BLS:
  Basic Life Support/CPR
