The organization includes The Orthopaedic Center of Venice and Gynecology of Venice, with shared administrative and clinical staff supporting both practices.

The Orthopaedic Center of Venice provides comprehensive orthopedic care for patients of all ages, treating a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions, including fractures, sports injuries, arthritis, and joint pain. Led by Dr. Gonzalez and Dr. Collins, the practice is committed to high-quality, specialized care tailored to each patient’s needs.

Role Description

Multi Office / Multi Specialty Medical office seeking a Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative and clinical tasks. Your energetic approach will help create a welcoming environment, streamline patient flow, and ensure the smooth operation of our medical office.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems, and a passion for delivering outstanding patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software and coordinate follow-up visits.
  • Verify patient insurance information, process payments, and handle medical collections with accuracy.
  • Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinical

    Works to update and review patient documentation.
  • Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, and Medicare claims processing.
  • Handle phone communication with patients and healthcare providers using proper phone etiquette while addressing inquiries promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies.
  • Review medical documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with health information management standards.
  • Support clinical staff by managing patient flow, preparing examination rooms, and organizing medical records.
  • Perform clerical duties such as filing, data entry (including 10-key typing), and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software and electronic systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-practice medical office environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in medical office, healthcare, dental office, or other patient-facing administrative role.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with medical scheduling, insurance verification, patient registration, or payment collection.
  • Familiarity with health insurance procedures, including Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Experience using an EMR/EHR system such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinical

    Works.
  • Familiarity with medical billing and coding, including CPT and ICD-10 classifications.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and common administrative software.
  • Experience reviewing medical records or documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Hours

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

No nights or weekends required.
