The Regional Supervisor provides leadership and operational oversight for park facilities, recreation programs, special events, and staff, ensuring safe, welcoming, and well-managed spaces while delivering consistent, high-quality customer service.
This position directly supervises the staff of Woodmere Park and leads the planning, coordination, and execution of major division events such as Big Truck Day, the Holly Jolly Holiday Party, and Halloween events. As participation in programs and special events continues to grow, this role is instrumental in enhancing operational coordination, strengthening event planning and execution, and supporting the continued success of the PRNR Division.
Aboutthe Position
In this role, you will...
Facility Management and Program DeliveryPlan, develop, implement, promote, and direct a broad range of recreation programs, activities, services, and special events offered at assigned facilities and countywide, utilizing existing policies, procedures, and CAPRA and ACA accreditation standards.
Oversee daily operations at Woodmere Park, ensuring consistent staffing coverage, safe and efficient operations, and a high level of customer service during all hours of operation.
Provide oversight for division-wide special events held at off-site locations, ensuring comprehensive event planning, permitting, logistics, vendor coordination, staffing, marketing, risk, and day-of execution.
Coordinate programming and events with internal departments, public safety agencies, vendors, contractors, sponsors, and community partners.
Create, collect, and analyze surveys for post-event evaluations.
Ensure assigned facilities are clean, well-maintained, safe, and accessible, and coordinate maintenance and operational concerns with Facilities Maintenance and Parks Maintenance staff.
Maintain effective working relationships with community organizations, user groups, volunteers, and the general public to support service delivery.
Serve as a liaison to the Recreation Division Manager and Manager II; provide well-thought-out recommendations related to services, staffing models, programming, and operational procedures.
Address citizen inquiries and complaints; explain County ordinances, policies, and procedures
Plan, organize, assign, supervise, review, and evaluate work of assigned staff.
Recommend hiring, provide training, coaching, mentorship, and hold staff and volunteers accountable as required.
Ensure effective supervision and coordination of staff and volunteers supporting rentals, programs, camps, and community-wide events.
Promote a positive organizational culture through communication, accountability, and leadership.
Assist in development and direct the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and work standards for assigned programs, facilities, or parks.
Assist in preparation and administration of annual budgets specific to area of responsibility; oversee expenditures, revenues, and provide input on pricing. Ensures proper use of facility use guidelines and pricing plan.
Prepare a variety of periodic and special reports related to recreation programs, events, facilities, revenue, expenditures, and recreation data collection.
Develop and write procedures and manuals.
Order materials, supplies, and equipment; prepare work orders and manage contracts as assigned.
Ensure compliance with County policies, procedures, and environmental stewardship standards.
Work with staff to ensure accurate and effective use of systems, including Rec Trac, Skynet, and Camp Doc.
Support and maintain compliance with CAPRA and ACA accreditation standards for the Department.
Conduct proactive assessments related to fraud awareness, prevention, detection, and risk mitigation.
Oversee financial, compliance, operational, and performance audits; review findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented as needed.
