Registered Nurse - Emergency Care Center

Description: Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program.
• For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within the specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).
• Basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.
• Upon completion of department orientation:
  Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke PSA/ACE (during orientation) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Crisis Intervention certification.
• Within one (1) year of completing department orientation, the following courses/certifications must be completed:
  Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC). All certifications must be maintained thereafter.
• Preferred:
  Certification in nursing specialty area.
• Preferred:
  Minimum of one (1) year of emergency RN experience.
• Preferred Education:
  
  BSN:
  Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• Required License and Certs: ACLS:
  Advanced Cardiac Life Support; BLS:
  Basic Life Support/CPR; FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License.
