The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for the safe delivery and documentation of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Directs and coordinates nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practices standards subscribed to by the American Nursing Association and in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act and other regulatory standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and desired patient outcomes.
Supports the SMHCS mission and vision and in doing so, uses knowledge of patient age and cultural diversity in providing exceptional patient care and serves as a role model for professional nursing.

Required Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) required within three (3) years of hire date.
- Successful completion of Basic Arrhythmia test within 90 days of employment.
- National Institute of Health (NIHSS) certification within 90 days of employment for experienced RNs and 6 months of employment for new graduate RNs.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire for experienced RNs and within 6 months of hire date for new grad RNs.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certified through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- State of FL RN Licensure.
- BSN:
Bachelor of Science Nursing. - Prefer certification in nursing specialty area.
