Job Summary

Sarasota Memorial First Physicians Group
is seeking a
Certified Nurse Midwife to join Venice OBGYN, a comprehensive practice with three physicians and a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in a beautiful clinic space conveniently attached to Sarasota Memorial – Venice Hospital.

Venice Hospital opened in December 2021, located on a 65-acre campus and features a 365,000-square-foot, 5 story hospital with 212 private patient suites, a 61-bed emergency care center, 8 surgical suites to include a da Vinci XI Robot. The adjoining 2 story, 60,000-square-foot Medical Office Building is where the OB/GYN practice is conveniently located.

The LDRP is equipped with 10 luxury LDRPs, 2 C-Section ORs, and 4 triage beds. The Level I nursery accepts patients who are 35+ weeks with a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner on call 24/7. SMH-Sarasota, located 17 miles North, is the only hospital in Sarasota County providing a Level III NICU
.

Responsibilities:

• Provide Obstetric and Gynecologic services in an outpatient and hospital setting.
• Monday – Friday outpatient practice hours.
• Rounding on admitted patients on LDRP at the hospital and seeing patients in the practice, and providing physician and/or labor coverage throughout the day depending on need.
• On call responsibilities 2 nights/week and 1 weekend/month call.
• Clinic visits include OB Visits (20+weeks), postpartum visits, GYN annual visits, and same day.
• Order laboratory and diagnostic testing and interpret results.
• Prescribe, administer, and dispense medications and other treatments.
• Coordinates treatment and makes appropriate referrals to other health providers as required.
• Manage patient call backs and communicating results.

Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited master’s degree program
• Current board certification
• Active or eligibility for licensureby the State of Florida
• BLS
• DEA Certificate
• Experience working as a CNM
• Ability to work independently
