Position Summary
Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates touring stores and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates at all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, merchandising, and company initiatives and direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively.
ResponsibilitiesModels and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model, manages and supports customer service initiatives such as community outreach programs, ensures customer needs, complaints and issues are successfully resolved, develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high‑quality customer experience. Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL/Profit‑Loss statements, assists in budgeting, forecasting and controlling expenses, monitors merchandise presentation, inventory flow, and operational processes, and develops action plans to mitigate shrink and ensure sales and profit goals are achieved.
Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting expectations and recognition, promoting a belonging mindset, and recruiting qualified associates. Coordinates, oversees job‑related activities and assignments, and develops key stakeholder relationships to support plans and initiatives. Ensures compliance with company policies, supports the Open Door Policy, and demonstrates integrity, respect, and a culture of belonging.
2 years of college; or 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; or 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For firearms‑selling facilities, successful completion of a firearms‑specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. Associates are required to attend and complete all job‑required trainings and assessments.
Preferred QualificationsBachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U; or Bellevue University. Certificate of completion in People and Business Leadership through these programs. General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing responsibilities.
