Job Description:
Purpose: The Field Service Technician II is responsible for the installation, service, preventive maintenance, diagnostic repair, removal, and selling of Kinetico water softeners and drinking water systems for Kinetico's residential customers.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Executes all processes and procedures related to product installations, utilizing various software tools and mechanical devices to record data. Manages the customer relationship by effectively explaining the installation, repair, or replacement work being performed. Provides professional technical service and repair work at customer locations. Identifies and converts sales opportunities for add-on products and services. Executes all documentation required for the customer, and for corporate record and data management.
Ensures that payment terms have been complied with prior to service work being performed. Collaborates with Field Service Technician team on best practices and areas to improve installations and service. Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including company vehicle, company tools, and spare parts inventory.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Reduces number of customer call-backs.
- Meetings upselling sales goals.
- Follows procedures and accurately documents results.
- Produces high quality of work and customer service.

- Exercises judgment based on previous experience, practices, and precedents to identify and solve problems.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Frequent lifting of up-to 50 pounds and maneuvering up-to 100 pounds with a dolly.
- Occasional lifting up-to 125 pounds.
- Ability to use hand tools and work with small parts.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 1 year of technician experience or relative experience required.
- Completion of Residential Pro and Residential Master academies.
- Valid drivers' license and a clean driving record.
- Plumbing experience and skills (soldering); plumbing certification a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and show initiative.
- Strong work ethic, self-motivated, action and goal oriented.
- Proven "customer-centric" focus and approach with the ability to establish and change priorities as required.
- Problem solver, excellent listening and verbal skills, and exceptional customer service phone skills.
- Organized and able to provide detailed follow-up and follow-through of all company processes and procedures.
- Professional image, outstanding customer relations skills, and comfortable talking to customers about product and payment options.
- Working knowledge of common software programs such as Word, Excel, etc.; familiarity with data entry systems a plus.
- Mechanical aptitude, good analytical, problem solving, and trouble shooting skills; understanding the technology contained in the company's products is essential.
- Accurate management of data, willingness to help others and an interest in executing responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.
