Preferred Materials - Concrete Division, part of CRH South Division, is a leading supplier of ready‑mix concrete, concrete block, rebar and building materials in Florida. The primary task of the Ready Mix Driver is driving to and from plant and work sites. Between trips the driver must hose down the rig to keep it clean and walk on uneven, slippery surfaces at both plant and job sites.

Primary responsibilities include ensuring Health & Safety standards are met by complying with legislation, company policies, and promoting a safe work environment. The driver will operate the concrete mixer, drive to work sites, discharge the load, and may need to unload and attach extension chutes weighing thirty to fifty pounds to the end of the primary chute.

Required tasks include frequent lifting of 25–50 pounds, oiling, greasing, servicing equipment, and making normal operating adjustments. Duties may also involve lifting and moving transported materials and operating delivery vehicles such as paver, roller, broom tractor, and concrete curb/gutter machines for loading/unloading.

The job requires climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, stretching, driving, sitting, shifting gears, pulling, and frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and shovels. Exposure to extreme hot or cold weather is possible. Overtime is required, and the driver must pass a DOT physical/drug screen and adhere to company safety policy at all times.

Applicants must meet Preferred Materials Driver Qualification Standards and hold a Commercial Drivers’ License with the necessary endorsements (Combination vehicle Group A or

B) in accordance with 49 CFR 383.91. Job duties described are not exhaustive and may be supplemented.

• Read, write, and communicate effectively.
• 1 year of related experience or training.
• Class A or B driver’s license with a current medical card.
• No DUI’s within the last 2 years.
• Minimal moving violations.
• Able to lift or move up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain respectful relationships.
• Ability to read and interpret written information such as safety rules, tickets, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
