Overview
The lowboy driver is responsible for the safe and proper operation and maintenance of the truck and trailer. We are committed to the total Ajax team effort by contributing to the proper completion of the work as directed by the foreman.
We are currently seeking an experienced Lowboy Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of driving experience, a clean driving record, and hands-on experience transporting construction equipment, including proper loading, securing, and tie-down procedures. Flexibility is important, as this role may require early morning starts, occasional late nights, and weekend work. Candidates must be able to pass FMCSA guidelines and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and professionalism.

Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years of CDL-A driving experience, a clean driving record, and hands-on experience transporting construction equipment, including proper loading, securing, and tie-down procedures.
Responsibilities- Proper maintenance and repairs of the truck and trailer, including tire pressure, fluid levels, lights, etc.
- Proper loading, securing and unloading of equipment
- Communicates with shop and keeps them informed of equipment problems or schedule delays.
- Assists foreman as directed on the job.
- Checks and fuels all trucks in the yard as directed by the Equipment Manager.
- Abide by all rules listed in the Ajax employee handbook.
- Ensure all Ajax quality standards are met.
- Ensure adherence to all federal, state, local and Ajax Safety and Environmental Rules and Regulations.
- Field operation – Work is exposed to outdoor conditions, noise and heat.
- Ability to work days, nights and weekends as required.
The essential functions of this position include sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, trunk movements, lifting a minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, low level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.
