DSA Masonry Inspector

We are looking for a DSA Masonry Inspector for a long-term project located in Simi Valley, CA. Starting immediately!

• Perform continuous and periodic special inspections of masonry construction in accordance with CBC Chapter 17 and DSA IRs.
• Verify compliance with approved plans, specifications, and structural details, including reinforcing steel placement, grout, mortar, and masonry unit installation.
• Inspect preparation and placement of CMU, brick, and stone masonry systems.
• Inspect reinforcing steel, anchors, and dowels.
• Inspect grout and mortar mixing, proportions, and placement.
• Confirm proper cleanouts, lift heights, consolidation, and curing methods.
• Observe and verify grouting operations, including pre-grout inspections and post-placement conditions.
• Maintain detailed inspection logs, reports, and documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers, architects, and project managers.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid DSA Masonry Special Inspector Certification.
• ICC Reinforced Masonry Special Inspector Certification (or equivalent).
• ACI certifications (preferred but may include):
  • ACI Field or Laboratory Technician (as applicable).
• Minimum 3-5+ years of experience in masonry inspection and materials testing.
• Demonstrated experience on DSA K-12 or public agency projects.
• Strong working knowledge of:
  • California Building Code (CBC), Chapter 17.
  • DSA requirements and Inspection Record (IR) documents.
  • ASTM standards related to masonry materials and testing.
  • Clear, concise verbal communication skills and professional writing for technical reporting.

The pay range for this position in California is $45.00 to 50.00 per year. Base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
