Job Type: Part‑Time Faculty
Location: Districtwide (Ventura County, CA)
Salary: $2,408 to $3,108 per semester per 10% load
We are accepting applications continuously for part‑time instructors in chemistry at Moorpark College, Oxnard College, and Ventura College. Applications will remain on file for the 2026–2027 academic year and may be considered if a vacancy opens.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive classroom instruction through lecture, lab, or performance courses.
- Assess and develop cognitive, communication, and higher‑order thinking skills through assignments and activities.
- Advise students regarding study plans, resources, and support services.
- Observe and evaluate student performance; provide timely feedback.
- Plan and organize instruction aligned with approved course outlines and learning outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of enrollment, attendance, progress, curriculum, and outcomes; submit related reports.
- Select and order instructional materials in collaboration with discipline faculty.
- Revise and update course content to reflect new theory and industry developments.
- Update syllabi and collaborate with faculty to assess and revise performance indicators.
- Participate in curriculum and program development, committee meetings, and articulation activities as required.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Master’s degree in chemistry, or Bachelor’s in chemistry or biochemistry AND Master’s in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, physics, molecular biology, or geochemistry; OR valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the discipline.
- All coursework from an accredited institution.
- Foreign transcripts from non‑U.S. institutions must be evaluated by a recognized agency.
