Join an innovative engineering company in South Ventura County at the intersection of quality, design, and manufacturing. As Quality Component Engineer you'll serve as a key technical liaison across the product lifecycle — from component selection and qualification through design changes and field performance — ensuring every part meets the highest standards of safety and performance.
What You'll Do- Lead component quality across the product lifecycle: selection, qualification, design changes, field performance
- Perform component risk assessments — obsolescence, performance variability, sourcing stability
- Lead DFMEA and PFMEA efforts with design, manufacturing, and reliability teams
- Support process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) for new and modified components, processes, and suppliers
- Investigate and resolve quality issues using 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone methodologies
- Lead supplier evaluations and incoming inspection criteria development
- Monitor quality metrics (yield, DPPM, failure rate trends) and drive continuous improvement
- Support internal and external audits; maintain ISO 9001:2015 QMS
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Field Service
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering or related technical field
- 3+ years in manufacturing or product development, preferably with electronic components
- Hands-on FMEA, risk analysis, and process validation experience
- Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, IPC standards, and component qualification best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with ERP/PLM systems (Microsoft Dynamics, Omnify/Empower a plus)
