Electrical Principal Engineer

Cannon Corp seeks an Electrical Principal Engineer to lead building electrical systems design across our residential and commercial real estate portfolio. You will own concept-to-construction design for power, lighting, low-voltage, and life-safety systems, ensuring code compliance, safety, and energy efficiency. Partner with development, architecture, and property management teams to scope projects, review drawings, and resolve field issues. Mentor junior engineers, set technical standards, and champion innovative, sustainable solutions in an innovative, collaborative, customer-focused culture with strong growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design for residential and commercial real estate projects from concept through construction documents.
• Develop power distribution, lighting, low-voltage, and life-safety system designs that meet codes and client requirements.
• Perform load calculations, short-circuit studies, and equipment sizing for building systems.
• Coordinate closely with architecture, mechanical, structural, and property management teams.
• Review and stamp drawings, specifications, and submittals; ensure NEC and building code compliance.
• Provide construction administration support, including RFIs, site visits, and punch lists.
• Drive energy-efficient and sustainable electrical solutions aligned with project goals.
• Establish and maintain electrical engineering standards and best practices for Cannon Corp projects.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and designers, providing technical reviews and training.
• Support business development by contributing to proposals, scope definitions, and client presentations.
