Planning Technician I​/II

Job Overview

The County of Ventura’s Resource Management Agency (RMA) is seeking a Planning Technician (I/II) to provide support for land‑use planning, zoning enforcement, and public outreach. The position will work under the Division’s Planning Programs team.

• Provide general information to the public regarding projects, planning programs, ordinances, and policies.
• Conduct research for special projects to assist professional staff in meeting objectives.
• Prepare written reports, statistical and narrative, with recommendations.
• Assist with preparation and delivery of public presentations explaining planning decisions.
• Perform related duties as required.

• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or related field.
• Some (I) to working (II) knowledge of planning principles, laws, and regulations.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Strong written and oral communication, customer service skills.
• Ability to work well with public, demonstrate teamwork, and meet deadlines.
• Valid California driver’s license.

Pay:
Tech I – $25.96 to $36.25 per hour;
Tech II – $27.81 to $38.85 per hour.
