You will serve as a Supervisory Park Ranger (Interpretation) in the Division of Interpretation & Education at Channel Islands National Park. The purpose of the position is to serve as an Acting Deputy Division Chief and manage, direct, and evaluate the park's complex interpretation, education, outreach, visitor services, public affairs, and public information. This is a temporary promotion and/or detail not to exceed 1 year and can be extended up to 5 years.
MajorDuties
The major duties of the Supervisory Park Ranger (Interpretation) position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Oversees all personnel management functions for the Division of Interpretation and Education. Oversees and assures the planning, coordination, development, and implementation of a complex, year-round, education, community outreach, and visitor services program. Serves as the Park's Public Information Officer for all aspects of park management. Advises Park management, other divisions, and regional office on Park's goals, objectives, and priorities for interpretation/education, public information, and public affairs.
Responsible for establishing and managing partnerships for the park with a wide variety of government agencies, research and education institutes, and community partners.
