Job Details

We’re looking for an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality parts. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll be responsible for setting up and operating the lathe, making adjustments as needed, and ensuring parts meet exact specifications.

What You’ll Do
  • Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and machining specifications.
  • Complete your own setups, including tool touch‑offs, program selection, and offset adjustments.
  • Machine parts to tight tolerances, including ±0.0005" when required.
  • Select and work with a variety of cutting tools, including turning tools, boring bars, thread tools, and /OD tooling.
  • Bore your own soft jaws and prepare machines for production.
  • Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, dial/drop indicators, gauges, and pitch micrometers.
  • Perform in‑process inspections and final inspections to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Deburr and finish parts using appropriate shop equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and minimize scrap by catching issues early.
  • Provide and maintain the personal machining tools needed to perform the job effectively.
What We’re Looking For Technical Skills
  • Experience operating and setting up CNC lathes.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, tolerances, and shop terminology.
  • Comfortable using precision measurement equipment.
  • Familiarity with Solid Works, Fusion, or similar CAD software is a plus.
  • Programming or manufacturing engineering experience is a plus.
