American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a CA RN license and TNCC certification at time of submission.
Details- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients from neonates to geriatrics
- Level II Trauma Center that is also STEMI and Stroke certified
- 1:4 patient ratio
- Uses Cerner EMR and Pyxis medication system
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
- Required to work every other weekend
- May float to a nearby facility approximately 15 minutes away as needed, with advance notice and paid orientation provided
- Active CA RN license required (EMSA not accepted)
- Minimum 3 years of ER experience required, 5 years preferred
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC required at time of submission)
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Experience with cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
- Skilled in arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, and IV therapy required
- Experience with procedural sedation administration and continuous IV sedation required
- Experience managing ventilated patients and interpreting ABGs required
- Experience with CVA, ICP monitoring, spinal cord injury, and TBI care required
- Pediatric emergency experience required, including head/spinal cord injury and near drowning cases
- Experience with trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations required
- Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Recent Nursys report required
- One supervisory reference required
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of acuities and age groups, including trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric cases
- Perform triage and maintain isolation precautions/PPE protocols
- Complete a 1-hour CA Harassment training course as required
- Complete standard training modules, which may be done pre-start or during orientation
- Only one RTO request accepted, and it must be included in the initial submission
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Interview availability must be provided in Pacific Time
