Java Developer – Digital & eCommerce (B2B & B2C in a large Securities Firm)

Senior Java developer partner with tech leads, global cross‑functional teams, and stakeholders to build and enhance digital commerce solutions for a global securities firm. The role balances hands‑on programming with knowledge transfer, continuous improvement and contributes to the software development life‑cycle.

• Design, code, review, test, deploy, and support Java‑based services (Spring, Map Struct, Lombok, JPA/Hibernate, Jackson) and RESTful APIs.
• Maintain and extend existing legacy code with an understanding of scripting languages (node.js, groovy, JavaScript) and performance tuning.
• Integrate new features with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Zuul/NGINX, Postgre
  
  SQL, Cassandra, Raven, Rabbit
  
  MQ, AWS services (SQS, SNS).
• Enforce coding standards via static analysis (Sonar Qube, Checkstyle, PMD) and automated tests (JUnit, Mockito).
• Co‑create technical designs and documentation; lead knowledge‑sharing sessions and workshops.
• Collaborate with Agile teams and product owners to plan releases using JIRA, Confluence, and Squash.
• Continuously improve dev‑ops processes (CI/CD, Code Deploy, Cloud formation) and maintain compliance with security, reliability and documentation requirements.
• advise on clean code principles, micro‑service architecture and best‑practice patterns.
• Mentor junior developers and coordinate skill development across the team.
• Participate in quarterly UX/Digital Thought Leadership sessions and architectures workshops.

• 5+ years experience as a Java developer with strong knowledge of Java 11+ and Spring Framework.
• Hands‑on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security and REST API design.
• Proficient with relational databases (Postgre

• Familiarity with AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, Cloud Watch) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control (Git, Git Hub, Bitbucket).
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and teamwork skills.

• Project management or Agile delivery experience.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Redis, and micro‑service orchestrators.
• Experience in the securities or financial services industry.
• Knowledge of security standards (XSS, CSRF, OWASP Top 10, encryption).
• Experience in user‑experience design or user‑research.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns and SOLID principles.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field; equivalent professional experience accepted.

Full‑time; 39‑40 hours per week (flexible 8‑week cycle).

Work location:

Sacramento and Los Angeles, California.
