WHAT YOU'LL DO

Under the general supervision of a Dean and the work direction of an Athletic Director and Head Coach, an Assistant Coach provides comprehensive instruction and leadership to student-athletes. This includes responsibility for assisting the Head Coach with the recruitment of student-athletes, team scheduling, programming, and public relations.

This applicant pool will be used to fill a part‑time Assistant Track and Field Coach assignment at Moorpark College to begin in the Spring 2026 semester. If you have applied to previous pools in this discipline, you will need to apply to this pool to continue to be considered.

WHERE YOU'LL WORK

Moorpark College, one of three colleges in the Ventura County Community College District, was founded in 1967. It serves approximately 15,000 students and operates under a "students first" philosophy, empowering its diverse community of learners to complete their goals for academic transfer, basic skills, and career education. REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
  • Provide instruction, mentoring, and coaching to student athletes in skills, techniques, and competitive strategies; evaluate performance and refine strategies.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling competitions, tournaments, and events in collaboration with other coaches and respect academic schedules and district policy.
  • Establish and maintain safety standards, demonstrate injury‑prevention techniques, provide immediate assistance to injured students, and document injuries.
  • Create a positive atmosphere, support academic progress, retain athletes, refer to support services, and maintain confidentiality of athlete information.
