WHAT YOU'LL DO

Under the general supervision of a Dean and work direction of an Athletic Director, a Head Coach provides comprehensive instruction and leadership to student-athletes and has responsibility for the recruitment of student-athletes, team scheduling, programming, and public relations. A Head Coach may provide work direction to Assistant Coaches.

This applicant pool will be used to fill a part‑time Head Women's Golf Coach assignment at Moorpark College to begin in the Summer 2026 semester. If you have applied to previous pools in this discipline, you will need to apply to this pool to continue to be considered.

WHERE YOU'LL WORK

Moorpark College is one of three colleges in the Ventura County Community College District, serving about 15,000 students. The campus is located on 150 acres in the foothills of Ventura County, approximately 40 miles from UCLA and 75 miles from UC Santa Barbara. Moorpark College is a Hispanic Serving Institution, has received recognition as an Aspen Prize Finalist, and is known for high transfer rates to four‑year colleges.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
  • Provide instruction, mentoring, and coaching to student-athletes in skills, techniques, and competitive strategies for individual and team achievement.
  • Manage the sports program in alignment with department, college, and district goals.
  • Plan and schedule competitions, tournaments, and events in collaboration with coaches and external parties, and report sport statistics.
  • Establish and maintain safety standards, provide injury assistance, and document injuries as required.
  • Create a positive atmosphere for student-athletes, support academic progress, and maintain confidential information.
  • Lead the recruiting process in compliance with CCCAA regulations, provide referrals to prospective student-athletes, and maintain contact with prospects.
  • Develop the subject sport team budget, manage expenses, and recommend equipment purchases.
  • Ensure program compliance with CCCAA regulations, establish effective procedures, and report violations.
  • Promote interest and attendance at athletic events and assist in fundraising efforts.
  • Provide work direction to others and perform related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Any bachelor’s degree or higher with two years of professional experience, OR an associate degree with six years of professional experience, OR equivalency, OR possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the discipline.
  • A First Aid Certificate issued by a recognized program within three months of employment.
  • A CPR Certificate issued by a recognized program within three months of employment.
