Yard Driver

Yard Driver - Ventura, California (Job Number: 174458)

As a Yard Driver for our California Buildings District, you will contribute to our team by:

• Reports to work on time, ready to work safely and learn.
• Safely operate flatbed truck.
• Minimum 2 years’ driving experience
• Primary job is to shuttle materials from our Yard to our Project sites.
• Perform Daily inspections and advise supervisor if repairs or maintenance is needed.
• Checking all fluids on a daily basis.
• Greasing equipment per manufacturers recommendations.
• Performing required housekeeping in the cab, on the windows and on the exterior of the equipment.
• Operate equipment safely in close proximity to other equipment and crew members.
• Recognize risks and hazards on the jobsite and adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure equipment is operated safely within its capabilities and limitations.
• Maintain a clean and safe job site.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must have valid drivers license
• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in construction preferred
• Familiar with field concepts, practices and procedures
• High regard for safety and pride for quality of work
• Self-motivated and team player
• Able to multi-task, show initiative and ask questions as needed
• Able to follow directions to ensure completion of daily tasks
• Have a high degree of flexibility in a changing environment
• Must have reliable transportation
• Strength to perform average lifting of up to 50 pounds, from the ground to above head.
• Should be able to navigate through the worksite on a daily basis
• Occasionally climbs up and down ladders, scaffolding, and stairs. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, high places, and under pressure.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

The salary range for this position is between $25-$30 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
