Vergennes Union Middle & High School is seeking a School Nurse (.40 FTE) starting for the 2026 - 2027 school year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Assessment
- First aid
- Health screening
- Medication administration
- Assist in communicable disease control
- Immunization assessment
- Attend student meetings as necessary
- Assessment and care of students with special needs
- Compilation of statistical information
- Maintenance of health and medication records/logs
- Accident reporting
- Member of the Wellness and Safety Teams
- Student/staff emergency card maintenance
- Preparation of required state reports
- Providing staff and parents with information of school health policies and other pertinent health resource information
- Providing interpretation of health information to staff and parents
- Promoting a healthy school environment
- QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing plus a minimum of 2 years of clinical or community nursing of which 200 days must have been within the last 4 years and must have completed an approved educational orientation program for school nurses. License:
Vermont Professional Educator’s License in the area of School Nurse, valid Professional Registered Nurse (R.N.) license in the State of Vermont, and hold a current certificate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
