Job DescriptionAddison Northwest School District is seeking a 1.0 FTE certified Special Educator at Vergennes Union Middle & High School to support students with a variety of special needs for the FY27 school year.
Responsibilities- Assess students’ skills to determine their needs, develop teaching plans, and adapt lessons
- Plan, organize, and assign activities that are specific to each student’s abilities
- Develop Individual Education Plans for each student, implement and update IEPs, assess students’ performance, and track/measure their progress and goals
- Teach students as a class, small group, and/or one-to-one setting
- Discuss students’ progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators
- Supervise para‑educators who work with students with disabilities
- Prepare and help students transition from grade to grade and life after graduation
- Work as a contributing member to many school teams
