Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Vergennes, Vermont. This position requires a finance expert with proven expertise in managing month-end processes, general ledger activities, and account reconciliations. Responsibilities:

- Oversee and execute month-end closing procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting.

- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to uphold financial accuracy.

- Prepare and post journal entries while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

- Conduct account reconciliations to verify financial data and resolve discrepancies.

- Perform bank reconciliations to monitor cash flow and identify variances.

- Collaborate with internal teams to support financial audits and reporting requirements.

- Analyze financial data to provide insights for decision-making and process improvements.

- Ensure adherence to established accounting policies and procedures.

- Assist in preparing financial statements and other documentation as required.

- Support the implementation of accounting best practices to enhance efficiency. Requirements

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.

Must be ONSITE

- Proficiency in month-end closing processes and general ledger management.

- Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation techniques.

- Experience with bank reconciliations and financial data analysis.

- Familiarity with accounting principles and standards.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Strong analytical abilities to interpret financial information.

- Effective communication skills to collaborate with teams and stakeholders.
