• High School Diploma
• Ability to speak clearly and with correct grammar
• Interest, desire, and ability to work with students
• Ability to understand, accept, and follow directions
• Maintain first aid, CPR, and Heimlich certification
• Other qualifications as deemed appropriate by the Board.

Reports to:

Building Principal or assigned supervisor.

To monitor students during indoor and outdoor recess, ensuring a safe and relaxed atmosphere.

• Monitor student behavior while in assigned area(s).
• Assist students in proper use of playground equipment, following guidelines in the student handbook.
• Monitor 2-way radio to assure communication with the school office.
• Guide students to resolve minor disagreements during recess activities.
• Communicate positively and effectively with students, co-workers, parents, visitors, staff, and volunteers.
• Assess minor injuries or refer student to the office/clinic as required.
• Report serious infractions of rules to building administrator or the student's teacher.
• Assist in monitoring students moving to and from recess as necessary.
• Remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout employment in the district.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

The contract length is directly related to pupil days.
