Monitor Cafeteria / Playground

Monitor cafeteria and playground from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Pay ranges from $12.92 to $15.53 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma
• Ability to speak clearly and with correct grammar
• Interest, desire, and ability to work with students
• Ability to understand, accept, and follow directions
• Maintain first aid, CPR, and Heimlich certification
• Alternatives to the above qualifications as deemed appropriate by the board

Reports to:

Building Principal or assigned supervisor

Job Goal:

To monitor students during indoor and outdoor recess, ensuring a safe and relaxed atmosphere.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Monitor student behavior while in assigned area(s)
• Assist student in proper use of playground equipment, following guidelines in the student handbook
• Monitor 2-way radio to assure communication with the school office
• Guide students to resolve minor disagreements during recess activities
• Communicate positively and effectively with students, co-workers, parents, visitors, staff, and volunteers
• Assess minor injuries or refer student to the office/clinic as required
• Report serious infractions of rules to building administrator or the student's teacher
• Assist in monitoring students moving to and from recess as necessary
• Remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout employment in the district
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Terms of employment:
The contract length is directly related to pupil days.
