MONITOR – Cafeteria / Playground

11:00 AM - 1:30 PM

$12.92/hr.

- $15.53/hr based on Experience

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma

Ability to speak clearly and with correct grammar

Interest, desire and ability to work with students

Ability to understand, accept and follow directions

Maintain first aid, CPR, and Heimlich certification

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO

Building Principal or assigned supervisor

JOB GOAL

To monitor students during indoor and outdoor recess, ensuring a safe and relaxed atmosphere.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBLITIES

Monitor student behavior while in assigned area(s).

Assist student in proper use of playground equipment, following guidelines in the student handbook.

Monitor 2-way radio to assure communication with the school office.

Guide students to resolve minor disagreements during recess activities.

Communicate positively and effectively with students, co-workers, parents, visitors, staff and volunteers.

Assess minor injuries or refer student to the office/clinic as required.

Report serious infractions of rules to building administrator or the student's teacher.

Assist in monitoring students moving to and from recess as necessary.

The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

The contract length is directly related to pupil days.
