Overview
Looking for a summer job? The University of South Dakota’s Governor’s Gifted Camp is looking for camp counselors for this summer’s camp! Potential earnings of $750 with all meals included!
Qualifications- Available for the entire duration of the 2026 camp – July 19th through July 23rd
- Be a student in good standing with the University
- Must be able to pass a fingerprinting/background check
- Must love working with 6th-9th grade students
- Enthusiastic, kind, creative, and outgoing
- Passionate about working with kids!
- Previous experience as a camp counselor (preferred but not required)
- Live in the university residence halls for one week with 6th-9th grade school students participating in the summer camp (you will have your own room)
- Assist with dormitory business (enforcing curfew, attending meetings, ensuring student safety, cleaning, etc.)
- Assist with implementing and supervising activities (field trips, evening recreation, transportation)
- Act as a role model to the campers
- Plan and lead team-building activities and meetings with small groups of students
- Supervise recreational activities
- Assist the director with daily camp activities
