• Administers anesthesia or sedation to patients undergoing a variety of surgical and non‑surgical procedures.
• Develops and conducts pre‑anesthetic plan for the patient and writes orders before, during, and after procedures.
• Works with and collaborates with providers caring for the patient.
• Communicates with patients, family members, and others on the health care team.
• Evaluates and orders diagnostic tests as needed.
• Monitors patients, including hemodynamic monitoring, and adjusts the anesthesia plan accordingly.
• Works with the growth and development needs of all client populations.

• Bachelor of Science degree required from an approved and accredited educational program in a specific area of advanced practice.
• Masters degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) preferred.
• Current unencumbered licensure to practice as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) from the State Board of Nursing in the state(s) of practice and/or possession of multi‑state licensure privileges as required by the position.
• CRNA certification required and maintained through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
• Obtains and subsequently maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Privileging documents and related credentialing requirements will supersede this job description in defining minimum qualifications, criteria, and scope of practice, if variation between documents exists.
