LPN - Vermillion Care Center - Part Time Overnights

Position Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.

Salary Range: $24.00 - $36.00 per hour. $2,500 bonus (eligible employees).

• Demonstrates knowledge of nursing principles for the resident in the relevant clinical setting.
• Demonstrates competency and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizes appropriate age and population specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per care plan.
• Performs testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and to provide the care needed.
• Recognizes problems, recommends solutions and responds effectively to assist in emergent situations.
• Ensures the health, comfort and safety of residents.
• Contributes to the assessment of residents and administers medications or treatments as ordered.
• Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
• Documents resident interactions and outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with residents, health care providers, and the public.
• Works effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
• Communicates clearly and maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Counsels residents, family members and/or resident advocates, under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider or physician on prevention and treatment plans.
• Applies knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self‑care program.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred.
• If the position requires IV therapy/management skills, must have graduated from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completed an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Must have attended a pre‑licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the life span as part of the curriculum or have had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as LPN at another facility.
• Possesses an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse license with the State Nursing board and/or multi‑state licensure privileges.
• Obtains and subsequently maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
• Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training requirements of the department and facility.
