Overview
The Office of Human Subjects Protection is seeking an independent, driven person to fill the role of IRB Analyst/Audit Coordinator.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred).
- At least 2–3 years of experience related to compliance work or higher education.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and apply federal regulations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Conceptual familiarity with human subjects and other academic research, and experience working in a fast‑paced academic research environment.
- Oversee the audit function of USD’s Human Research Protection Program and conduct compliance audits of experiments involving humans, including preparing, interviewing researchers, reviewing documents, and writing and presenting reports to the Director and Institutional Review Board.
- Assist with non‑compliance determinations, action plans, and monitoring.
- Audit research projects that do not involve human subjects to ensure compliance with federal and institutional requirements and help manage other aspects of the internal quality assessment/improvement program.
- Review human subject protocols, applying federal, VA, and USD policy and procedures to evaluate proposed research, assist researchers with changes, and approve projects.
- Act as the Director’s authorized delegate when the Director is unavailable.
