The Staff Accountant supports the Financial Controller across a wide variety of functions, including transactional processing, financial analysis, annual budget development and monitoring, cost allocation, annual audit support, and the implementation of internal financial and compliance controls. This role serves as a key resource for the organization, providing daily support to ensure financial records remain complete, accurate, and fully compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), organizational policies, and relevant regulations.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesBilling & Revenue Management: Process monthly billings for tenant and airline accounts; audit and record monthly tenant sales reports; maintain daily cash receipts and process monthly deposits; prepare detailed monthly general ledger revenue analyses and maintenance reports.
Tenant & Account Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for accounting inquiries and requests from commercial tenants and facility partners.
Financial Reporting & Month-End Close: Perform assigned month-end and year-end closing duties; assist with the preparation of management reports, supporting schedules, and annual financial statements.
Audit & Compliance Support: Assist with external audits and help implement effective financial controls to ensure regulatory compliance.
Special Projects: Contribute to department and cross-functional organizational projects as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsEducation & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
2–3 years of hands‑on accounting experience.
CPA license is desirable, but not required.
Special Requirements:
Must be able to pass a background check and obtain/maintain federally mandated security clearances required for working in an airport facility environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesTechnical Knowledge:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel capabilities preferred).
Deep understanding of standard accounting theories, principles (GAAP), methods, terminology, and financial reporting.
Strong grasp of standard auditing procedures, compliance practices, and techniques for identifying errors in general ledger accounts.
